When planning FröbelHöfe, great importance was placed on sustainability, the reduction of CO₂ emissions, adaptation to future climate change, and the creation of a healthy indoor environment. This commitment is already reflected during the construction phase. One important aspect is the responsible management of the waste generated on site.
The recycling of construction waste plays a central role in the development of FröbelHöfe. The main contractor has introduced a central management system to support the recycling of waste generated during construction.
As a result, 90 percent of the project’s construction waste is recycled or reused. This high recycling rate helps reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill while protecting valuable natural resources.
At the same time, reusing construction waste supports the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and contributes to environmental and climate protection.
The environmental approach of FröbelHöfe is also reflected in the selection of the project site. The residential development is being built on a site with pre-existing development. This protects valuable agricultural land and allows existing infrastructure to be used efficiently.
The choice of location also helps reduce CO₂ emissions during the construction phase and minimises the project’s ecological footprint.
Clear requirements also apply when selecting the construction partners involved in the sustainable delivery of the project. The projects may only be carried out by general contractors that have calculated their Corporate Carbon Footprint in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14064.
In addition, the precast concrete production facilities must be certified by the Concrete Sustainability Council, or CSC. This ensures that FröbelHöfe works with partners committed to minimising their environmental impact and complying with high sustainability standards.
The 90 percent recycling rate, central construction waste management, use of a previously developed site, and cooperation with certified partners are important components of the FröbelHöfe sustainability concept.
Sustainability is therefore understood not only as a feature of the future residential development but as a principle that is consistently considered throughout its planning and construction.
